About PATL and the club

PATL builds and operates padel clubs across the United States, with sites in Atlanta and Louisville and new clubs coming in the Seattle area and Charleston. Our mission is to make padel accessible, engaging and fun, with exceptional programming for players of every level.

The Mount Pleasant club will be PATL’s first indoor flagship: six indoor padel courts plus squash, wellness, coworking and social space. With squash at the heart of the club, we are building a premier program grounded in sportsmanship, community and player development.

Position summary

We are seeking an experienced, energetic and community-focused Head Squash Coach to lead, grow and elevate our squash program.

The Head Squash Coach will oversee all squash instruction, player development initiatives, coaching staff and program operations at PATL Charleston. This role requires a blend of elite coaching skill, leadership capability, program design and the ability to foster a thriving squash culture. The ideal candidate is a strong on-court presence, an inspiring leader and a builder of community.

Key responsibilities

Coaching and player development

• Deliver high-quality private lessons, clinics, junior sessions and group training for beginner to advanced players
• Develop structured programs that guide players’ technical, tactical and competitive growth
• Create fun, engaging and goal-oriented learning environments

Leadership and staff oversight

• Lead and mentor coaching staff and assistant coaches
• Maintain high instructional standards aligned with PATL’s values of community, excellence and sportsmanship
• Support hiring, onboarding and performance management of coaching staff

Program and event management

• Design and implement a full suite of squash offerings: leagues, clinics, junior pathways, seasonal camps and competitive training
• Work with club management to run tournaments, exhibitions and special events
• Ensure consistent quality and a positive player experience across all programs

Community engagement

• Serve as the ambassador for squash at PATL Charleston
• Build relationships with members, families and visiting players
• Help foster an inclusive, friendly environment that encourages participation and player retention

Qualifications

Required

• Demonstrated experience as a squash coach
• Strong understanding of squash technique, tactics and modern coaching methods
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to lead staff, manage schedules and develop programming
• Passion for helping players improve and for growing the sport

Preferred

• Prior head coach or leadership experience
• Relevant coaching certifications
